Blue Zones Project Approved
Grocery Stores
Grocery stores subtly but significantly influence our food decisions, from the types of foods offered to where products are placed throughout the store. Case in point: About 60 percent of the food we purchase is highly processed, fatty, salty, or sugary—and many of those types of items are given prime shelf space where they’re more difficult to avoid. The grocery stores below are Blue Zones Project Approved™ for their efforts to give their customers more ways to make healthier choices.

GROCERY
Harvest Market
Fort Bragg, CA, 95437
Harvest Market, a family-owned business started by Tom Honer in May 1985, began as a single, traditional grocery store and has evolved into three stores that reflect a unique blend of conventional, specialty, organic, domestic, international, and local products. To continue the family tradition and expand the vision, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Tim Bosma joined the business in 2005. Their focus has included community support and sustainability practices.
